It is undeniably true that Mekong River is an extremely crucial river to support the whole Cambodia's economy since Cambodia's economy is mostly based on agriculture. This river has provided abundant amount of water for the farmers to plant their crops and rice. Not only does it provide water for usage, it also provide the shelter of watery animals. However, currently, there are many problems that threaten the Mekong river such as water pollution and illegal fishing. In my opinion, actions need to be done, not only from the government, but also us, the people of Cambodia. By the way, this is a very interesting topic to discuss, Dara :)
ReplyDeleteI see your point Kolneath, and I also agree with you and Dara. Mekong River is really important for Cambodia and other countries along it. Without Mekong River, those countries will fact many serious disasters including drought, no fish, no tourism, no water, fish extinction, and causing bad effect on people who depend their living on Mekong River. Mekong River is becoming lower and lower in some place. In my opinion, those five countries have to take care of Mekong river and they mustn't selfish to take the advantages of Mekong River to serve their countries without thinking of the other countries that stay below the Mekong River.
